It’s that time of the year again… back to school time, baby. Trapper Keepers, Mr. Sketch scented markers, Lisa Frank folders…
Yes, I was obsessed with anything and everything Lisa Frank. Am I dating myself?
While no one in this house is currently attending school, we do live in the town’s old school house - that’s a little relevant, right?
Our (modified) one-room school house just happened to be featured on the front cover the hometown newspaper last week. I don’t think I’ve ever shared this picture before. And… since I’ve never shared it before, I’ve never pointed out the creepy girl all the way to the right. Her dark stare looks like she would haunt this house… just sayin’.
When we bought the house, the previous owners left a bigger copy in one of the kitchen drawers. I’d like to get it framed someday and actually display it. That sounds like a good project for Fall. Which is right around the corner now that school’s back in session in Connecticut.
I find it so easy to get swept up in that optimistic feeling of a fresh start this time of year. Anyone else? Matt and I are finally starting to get some sleep (I’m knocking all the wood within reach) so we’re starting in on a couple of things after Harrison goes to bed each night. Before we start our Game of Thrones binging, that is.
Matt’s been working on his car a bit (yes, the car that occupies most of the mancave) and I’ve been mostly tending to the gardens.
Whether your home has school-goers or not, I’m hoping you’re spending the dog days of summer however you wish!
